PRODUCT BENEFITS

  • The unique characteristics of the lightweight aggregate make it a one of a kind, cost-effective solution for combating erosion in coastal and non-coastal aquatic environments.
  • Transport and installation of the product is easy due to the lightweight and moderate sizes of SHORE|LINKS®
  • The lightweight aggregate creates an excellent rooting medium for emergent shoreline vegetation
  • The SHORE|LINKS® system prevents erosion by creating a hardened surface that aids in dissipation of wave energy, current flow, and runoff.
  • Upon installation, SHORE|LINKS® promote marsh creation over time by accreting and entrapping additional sediments and organic debris, especially after vegetation occurs.
  • SHORE|LINKS® can be used to heal and re-vegetate pipeline, utility, and construction rights-of-ways.
  • SHORE|LINKS® is an ideal tool for armoring newly constructed levees or terraces to prevent loss of sediment until vegetation is established thus increasing the life of the structure.
  • The low density of SHORE|LINKS® will not subside in fluid marsh sediments but rather rest gently on the marsh surface and water bottom.
  • The size, weight, and shape of SHORE|LINKS® can be easily modified to accommodate various applications that require a different foot print.
  • Where vegetation is lost, SHORE|LINKS® facilitates the re-establishment of vegetation and prevents further erosion.
  • Vegetation occurs through a combination of natural regeneration, seeding, and planting without causing any damage to the SHORE|LINKS® units.
